EYE EXAMINATIONS

Your Eye Examination

Your eye examination will last for approximately 30 minutes, to allow time for your optometrist to thoroughly examine your eyes and vision.

During this time, you will be asked to complete a series of tests which are all designed to assess your visual status (whether you might be long or short-sighted) and eye health.

None of these are difficult or painful in any way but are important for your optometrist to be able to accurately prescribe any eyewear, if this is necessary.

What's different about our eye exams?

Your eye examination includes time for you to raise any concerns and ask any questions you may have. We want to be fully transparent about your eye health and are happy to take the time to explain anything you might not understand.

We use Retinal Imaging and OCT Scanning to see more of your eye and provide a thorough eye exam.

At our practice, we welcome patients of all ages. Now in our sixth decade, we have built our reputation on providing clinical and service excellence for the whole family and have a long list of valued, loyal patients whom we have served since childhood.

As an independent community practice, we are proud to provide a personal service and cater your eye exam to meet your individual needs and recommend the best options for you.

All of our team is fully qualified to ensure that you get the tailored care, advice and service that you deserve.

Using the Latest Technology

You will also have the opportunity to have retinal photographs taken as part of your examination. Our digital retinal camera allows us to see a much wider section of the back of your eye, which consequently enables a thorough check of your eye health. Many eye conditions, including glaucoma and macular degeneration, can be detected in the very early stages by retinal screening. This, in turn, allows faster and more effective treatment for you. Find out more about retinal imaging here.

Once your examination is complete, your optometrist will explain their findings to you, including any updates to your prescription that might be required. They’ll also be happy to answer any questions you have, as well as taking the time to recommend suitable products for your needs, wants and lifestyle.
